ANDERLETT HOUSE
WHY
Demolishing the existing, low-performing home was necessary to make way for a new airtight, north-orientated home. Site features were to be recaptured such as retaining key trees and creating views and large yard spaces.
HOW
The proposed knockdown-rebuild prioritises north orientation, airtight construction and a highly efficient footprint. The layout is compact with every millimetre given to function and storage without compromising on the spatial quality. The floorplan creates intersecting axes to capture views and light via east-west and north-south vistas. Arranged around the axes are separate wings for the master bedroom, kids bedrooms, and living areas. The long north living space opens to a large, private north facing yard.
