WHY

The existing site has a large under-utilised backyard, with a vision to create a thriving garden. The existing house requires more space, better access to the sun, and improved access to the garden.

HOW

The proposed extension seeks to create minimal impact to the existing brick veneer dwelling. A new lightweight clad pavilion creates a new north facing living space with improved access to the yard. The box lightly touches the existing house which allows for a new form and aesthetic to differentiate from the existing. On the opposite side of the site, a new garage is accommodated. Each framing the new garden.
